About Me

I am a qualified and experienced teacher of English as a foreign or additional language, based in Kent and offering online tuition worldwide at all levels.

With almost 20 years’ experience supporting learners from many different countries and backgrounds, I provide one to one, tailor-made sessions designed around your goals and confidence.

My teaching focuses on the skills that make a real difference: grammar, listening, reading comprehension and fluency, with practical English you can use in everyday life, study and work.

Education and training

• BA (Hons) in Modern Languages – Lancaster University, including study at the University of Florence

• Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Principles of Teaching English as a Foreign Language

My teaching journey

I began my career working on summer programmes in the UK with Spanish children learning English. I then spent over seven years teaching in Italy, first in Sicily and later in Milan, where I worked with adults, teenagers and children at every level.

My professional experience includes:

• Teaching for The British Council in Milan and Hong Kong

• Corporate training, with Barclays International as a major client

• Working with professionals in banking, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and universities

• Exam preparation and practical English for work and study

• Programmes in Belgium with both adults and young learners

• EAL support in London primary schools, including complete beginners

I teach primarily in English to build confidence quickly, while my strong knowledge of Italian helps learners progress with clarity and understanding when needed.

Supporting new communities

Since 2022, I’ve been proud to support Ukrainian families in the UK, including work through the Homes for Ukraine programme with Tunbridge Wells Council. I’ve helped both children and adults develop essential “language survival skills” to settle into school, work and daily life with greater confidence.
